Ernest T. Seko, 66, died on June 26, 1992 in Salt Lake City of self-administered carbon monoxide poisoning. Denied the availability of legalized euthanasia, he was forced to suicide when the cruel incursions of cancer and chemotherapy were beyond his long and gallant endurance.

Born January 24, 1926 in Ajax, Utah, to Kay Kenneth and Kikuno Seko.Survived by wife, Sachi; sons, Alan Kent and Conrad Thaddeus; brothers, Harry and Duzo; sister, Mrs. Horace (Amy) McDaniel. Preceded in death by a brother, Ray.

At his request, Ernie was cremated and his ashes scattered. Ever modest, he declined the rituals of a public farewell. Instead, he cherished the letters and phone calls and visits from friends far and near, particularly during the last terrible weeks. No greater tribute can a human receive than the gift of friendship.

The family respectfully declines any sympathy gifts. Instead, they suggest that those wishing to do so, make contributions to a church or favorite charity in Ernie's name.
