WILLIAM OHLSON

William J. Ohlson (Bill) Bill passed away
Aug. 23, 2010 in Salt Lake City
from natural causes. Bill was born March 26, 1925 in Salt Lake City, to Axel B. C. and Anna J.
Ohlson. Graduated from East
High School 1942 and
married Margaret Hutchinson on May 27, 1943. Bill served his country during World War
II with the 8th US Army Air Force in High Wycombe, England.
After the war Bill spent four years working for the US Army Air Force in Germany, where he and Margaret enjoyed traveling
throughout Europe. He returned to the states
where he graduated from the University
of Utah, with a degree in
business and started a long rewarding career with
IBM.
After leaving IBM, he worked for Surety Life Insurance and Libra Programming
Inc., retiring at 67. Bill served the community by holding board positions with
the United Way,
Red Cross, Salt Lake City
Schools, and Junior
Achievement. He was a long time member of the Salt Lake Rotary
Club, and member and past President of Hidden Valley Country Club. Bill
enjoyed life by golfing, skiing, hiking and fishing in the Uintas,
and boating at Lake
Powell. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret, three
brothers and three sisters. Survived by three children, David
(Charlene) of Sandy, UT;
Kristine Maasberg (Bill) of Marion,
UT; and Kevin (Jean) of Charlotte, VT;
nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. A private service was
held at Larkin Sunset Gardens
on Saturday, September 4th. Donations may be made in Bill's honor to the American
